Washington County Event Center

Located at the Meadows Hollywood Casino in Washington, PA, this ground-up, 3,000-capacity event center responds to the casino’s need for larger indoor event space and new programming opportunities. Positioned at the casino’s front entrance after a master planning study with aerial surveys and owner workshops, the site leverages existing parking garages, elevator cores, and service infrastructure to optimize access, visibility, and operational efficiency while creating a dynamic new architectural presence for the property.

The design is inspired by the site’s harness-racing heritage, translating the interplay of horse, rider, and tack into a sweeping structural language of power and precision. A column-free main arena beneath a high-performance tensile fabric roof ensures unobstructed sightlines and flexible staging, while programmatic elements—direct casino connection, ADA access from multiple levels, controlled exterior entry, and a dedicated VIP enclave—address operational, security, and guest-experience requirements.

Functionality and hospitality are woven together in a refined guest journey: a versatile main stage that supports indoor–outdoor transitions, an elevated VIP suite with superior sightlines, and a central connector hub with a signature bar and amenities that knit the new center to the existing casino. The composition culminates in a rooftop patio accessed via the casino’s elevator core. Thoughtful material choices and refined detailing ensure the new facility reads as a natural evolution of the campus while expanding its capacity and event capabilities.
