Sandra Scaffidi brings expertise to Mills Group as the Preservation Associate and Historian. Sandra researches and documents historic buildings and towns, assists in writing historic structure reports and provides a contextual background to the architects and designers working with historic resources.
Sandra is originally from New York, but is proud to call West Virginia her new home and has worked on many local projects to renew the communities in the area. Sandra’s most recent contributions include working Main Street Fairmont, helping to revitalize Fairmont's historic downtown. During her tenure, the downtown was recognized as a Great American Main Street Community and a Preserve America Community.
Sandra brings fresh outlook and a new dynamic to the Mills Group, having earned a Masters Degree in Public History from Colorado State University and an Undergraduate Degree in History from Binghamton University. Sandra approaches each project with an open mind and prides herself on discovering the nuances, which make each historic property unique. ‘I treat each historic resource with honesty and integrity while telling its story’.
