Project Sheet
Gregg Metheney first met the Mills Group when he walked into the office off High Street. “I was looking for an architecture firm to help me accomplish what I had in mind and knew of the quality reputation of the Mills Group. So I just showed up one day and really meshed well with Michael and Ryan from the very beginning.” – Gregg
Gregg is no stranger to the typical student housing approach in Morgantown and wanted the Jones Place to be different. “I emphasized that I wanted the design to make everyone living there to feel as though they are on campus. Individual views, spacious living accommodations, a private gathering square, and separate style living was a must. The landscape provides a tremendous view but also created design and structural challenges that had to be overcome. The Mills Group was able to design a structure that could handle the terrain challenges, and maximize its natural views.”
Because of the dynamic of the Mills Group, each project receives individual attention from a primary project manager while other members of the team collaborate to produce a comprehensive and high-quality product. While Ryan Hess was the primary staff member to design Jones Place, all team members ensured that the client was satisfied. Although the primary designer on this project was Ryan Hess, the Mills Group maintains a team based atmosphere that generates the best results and ensure complete responsiveness for clients. “I have worked with other architects in the past and it was often the case that to get a prompt response required going straight to the Principle architect. This is definitely not a problem with the Mills Group. I was able to be helped at all times by various individuals within the firm. There is a great sense of teamwork there. In the end they delivered on what I wanted and took the Jones Place to a new level.” – Gregg
They (Mills Group) listened to my ideas and opinions. Then they molded those into a creative reality that works perfectly.” – Gregg Metheney
